In this course we compare different concepts of transformation in architecture:
Studying the historical building gives us a deeper understanding of the typological, spatial and constructive characteristics and the underlying design principles.
With this expanded idea of the existing building, we will explore different concepts of transformation – such as restoration, refurbishment, conversion and extension.
We use drawing and modelmaking to reveal the main idea of
the design and the concept of transformation – considering
different scales – down to the detail.
